Real Shift is a female directed Non-Profit Company engaged in facilitating a green economy in South Africa through sustainable agriculture and waste management projects. They believe this will enable environmentally friendly economic and employment growth on the same, or a greater, scale than current environmentally unsustainable growth. One of the main benefits of green growth is that the jobs it creates tend to have higher local content than traditional fossil-fuel-based economic activities.
Real Shift engages with communities to encourage them to engage in environmentally and economically sustainable waste management and agricultural practices. They offer demonstrations and mentoring in rural communities where development is most needed, yet resources are severely limited.
